Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation (RTNMC) proudly participated in the Grand Parade for the 6th Pinya Festival in Bataraza, Palawan, from July 1 to 20.

This year’s festival, themed "Sowing Seeds of Innovation for a Fruitful Tomorrow," celebrated the contributions of local pineapple farmers, honored bountiful harvests, and highlighted community development and the town's rich cultural heritage.

The festivities began on July 15 with a vibrant opening program at the municipal gymnasium led by Bataraza Mayor Abraham Ibba. The parade featured 22 colorful floats inspired by pineapples, showcasing the creativity and spirit of local organizations, government offices, and community groups.

Alongside the parade, the Bataraza Agri-Tourism Fair opened, featuring a variety of local produce. Mayor Ibba, together with local and provincial officials, ceremonially cut the ribbon to mark the fair's commencement. According to OIC Municipal Agriculture Officer Jerome Genilan, the fair promotes Bataraza's agricultural products while boosting regional tourism. Farmers and producers from various barangays displayed a wide range of fruits, vegetables, and goods, showcasing the town’s agricultural richness.

The Pinya Festival serves as a crucial platform for promoting pineapple production, an integral part of Bataraza’s economy. Throughout the week, the festival featured various cultural and agricultural activities that reinforced the community's agricultural roots and fostered collaboration and innovation.

By participating in this significant event, RTNMC not only supports local agriculture and tourism but also strengthens its ties with the Bataraza community. This partnership reflects the corporation's commitment to sustainable development and community welfare as they continue to sow the seeds for a prosperous future together.
