Destined to be a Mining Engineer

I withdrew my enrolment in Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Isabela State University – Echague in June 2019 when I was granted the slot for Development of Mining Technology and Geosciences (DMTG) Scholarship by Dinapigue Mining Corporation.

The slot opened after the student who topped the qualifying exam waived the scholarship grant.

My family and I are very grateful to Dinapigue Mining Corporation for the opportunity given to us.

At first, it was difficult for me to change plans because Psychology is on top of my list and I was having doubts on myself if I can do engineering.

After a lot of encouragements from my family, I was enlightened and decided to give it a chance—to pursue Mining Engineering and accept the scholarship grant bearing in mind the assurance of a full scholarship from the Company.

Currently, I am enrolled at Saint Louis University and I am in my first year of Bachelor of Science in Mining Engineering.

Now, my career vision is to be an ambassador of responsible mining and be part of a team committed to improve the quality of life in Dinapigue, my community.
