DMC spends P1.3M for typhoon relief

The Dinapigue Mining Corporation (DMC) had distributed relief assistance to the six barangays of Dinapigue that were affected by a series of typhoons.

The mining firm realigned a total of P1.3 million from its Annual Social Development and Management Program (ASDMP) to provide relief assistance to the communities in Dinapigue.

According to DMC, an affiliate of Nickel Asia Corporation (NAC), the move was pursuant to the Mines and Geosciences Bureau’s directive allowing mining companies to realign unspent funds from their ASDMPs.

DMC specifically realigned the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) and Development of Mining Technology and Geosciences (DMTG) components of its ASDMP.

Despite the difficult road conditions brought about by the onslaught of the recent typhoons, the company was able to distribute assorted grocery items to a total of 1,587 beneficiaries in Barangays Dimaluade, Bucal Norte, Bucal Sur, Ayod, Digumased, and Dibulo.

Dimaluade Punong Barangay Concepcion Donato expressed his gratitude to the company for this assistance.

“Maraming salamat sa DMC para sa tulong na inihatid nila sa atin, malaki ang maitutulong nito para makabangon ang mga nabiktima ng kalamidad,” said Donato.

In addition, the employees of DMC also participated in a Personal Social Responsibility project (PSR) along with other business units of Nickel Asia to donate food and toys to other affected communities in the province of Isabela from their personal funds.
