Hinatuan Mining Corp. (HMC) Representative of Host and Neighboring Communities (RHNC) along with representatives of various sectors in the host communities of HMC attended the Philippine Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (PH-EITI) Online Learning on Extractives 2021 held at Barangay Talavera Gym. The activity was facilitated by the PH-EITI through a webinar workshop.
The objectives of the webinar are to: update stakeholders in extractive host communities regarding actions taken on concerns raised in previous forum/consultations, and address new issues or refer them to the appropriate EITI implementing agency; gather recommendations for the continuous improvement of extractives data accessibility, comprehensibility, and overall management, including the creation opportunities for community members to contribute in analyses; and identify other capabilities that need to be developed to enable community members to meaningfully participate in the EITI process.
