In a remarkable demonstration of environmental responsibility and youth empowerment, Cagdianao Mining Corporation (CMC) partnered with various youth organizations in Cagdianao for a tree-planting event on August 11, 2024. The participating groups included the Valencia National High School (VNHS) Supreme Student Government (SSG), Youth for Environment in Social Organization (YES-O), and the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) officials of Barangay Valencia, Cagdianao.

Held in celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan, this collaborative effort aimed to deepen the youth's connection with the environment. The event featured the planting of 367 indigenous seedlings at RA 16 (Virago), significantly contributing to the region's ongoing reforestation initiatives. This activity formed part of CMC's Annual Environmental Protection and Enhancement Program (AEPEP), emphasizing the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community development.

Beyond the physical impact of the tree planting, the event offered an invaluable educational experience. By actively participating in the reforestation effort, young leaders gained a better understanding of biodiversity, ecological balance, and the long-term benefits of environmental stewardship.

This initiative underscores the power of collaboration between a mining company, local schools, and community leaders. Together, they are making a meaningful impact on the environment and inspiring the next generation of environmental advocates.
