A bloodletting event was successfully conducted by Rural Health Unit of Dinapigue (RHU) in partnership with the Southern Isabela Health Unit, the Dinapigue Local Government Unit (LGU) and the Dinapigue Mining Corporation (DMC).
The Blood Equipping Toward Adequacy Maximized (BetaMax) bloodletting event was held at the Chakiton Multi-purpose Covered Court.
BetaMax is a bloodletting program spearheaded by the Dinapigue RHU in line with the National Voluntary Blood Services Program.
The program aims to boost the number of voluntary blood donations in Dinapigue in order to have a healthy supply of blood for emergency cases requiring transfusion.
“Alam naming mahirap abutin ang target na 1 percent ng total successful blood donors, ngunit dahil sa inyong suporta, hindi lamang po 1 percent ang ating nakamit bagkus umabot po tayo sa 4.69 percent,” said Dr. Reygene Caratiquit of the RHU.
DMC Site Physician Bobby Bonagua and Site Nurse Genevie Quejas assisted in the bloodletting program by providing vital signs reading and medical checkups for aspiring blood donors.
In addition, 22 employees from DMC participated in the bloodletting program.
Dinapigue Municipal Mayor Reynaldo Derije and Vice Mayor Vicente Mendoza graced the program and also donated blood.
