Talavera Elementary School tops Brigada Eskwela competition

One of the adopted schools of Hinatuan Mining Corporation (HMC)—Talavera Elementary School (TES) has won in the Brigada Eskwela competition of the Department of Education (DepEd).

Landing first place, TES bested 10 other competing schools in the Search for 2021 Brigada Eskwela Best School Implementers - Division Level for medium school category.

TES is one of the seven adopted school of HMC, a subsidiary of Nickel Asia Corporation (NAC), in Tagana-an, its host community.

Judith P. Monadi, Principal I of TES is grateful for the assistance provided by HMC to their school.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to HMC as our main stakeholder for the financial support and various donations given to our school. Your generosity and constant support paved the way for TES to win the Search for 2021 Brigada Eskwela Best School Implementers - Division Level,” said Monadi.

Monadi said HMC has always been very supportive to the school's programs and projects.

“Your support and assistance given during our struggle for this competition is highly appreciated, thus HMC will always be a part of our victory,” she added.

Cherimie C. Intana, TES Brigada Eskwela Coordinator and Grade III teacher also expressed her gratitude to HMC for the help it given to her school.

“Thank you HMC for providing several gallons of paint to help with the beautification and make TES a colorful and child-friendly school,” said Intana.

The Brigada Eskwela Program 2021 has one goal—for a better learning environment. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, the spirit of volunteerism prevailed.

HMC ComRel personnel, HMC college scholars, Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU) officials, TES faculty, staff and parents all contributed in the activity.

“All of them were there during our struggle, they are with us now as part of our success in getting the first place of the Brigada Eskwela competition Division Level for medium school category. Thank you very much,” she added.
