TMC responders emerge winners in first aid competition

Amid the Coronavirus pandemic, the emergency response teams (ERT) of Taganito Mining Corporation (TMC) and its contractors enhanced their readiness and skills to help combat the health crisis.

In line with the company's commitment to providing and promoting safe and healthy workplace for all employees, the first aid competition on October 30, 2021 was organized by TMC through its Safety and Loss Control Department (SLCD).

The Inter-TMC & Contractors First Aid Competition 2021, held at TMC Gymnasium, was participated by contractors and a representative from TMC First Aiders.

Its primary objective is to ensure the capability of all first aiders to conduct rescue in case of any emergency scenarios either onsite or offsite cases, especially in responding to COVID-related cases.

“The company is doing its best to monitor and fulfill its obligations and perform beyond its safety compliances. By this activity, the company will ensure that all employees are in a safe working environment,” said Engr. Cherry May Gabunada, Assistant Safety Manager.

Personnel from the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (MDRRM) Office and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) acted as judges in the competition, in which Team TMC, MTEL and HPK competed in contest.

In the end, however, TMC First aiders managed to capture the first place, followed by MTEL Trading and Manpower Services, and HPK Construction.

Special awards were given to the following teams: Most Organized Team – Nickelbase Inc.; Best in Chant/Yell – Southernphil Development and Marketing Corporation; and Most Disciplined Team – TMC First Aiders.
