Cagdianao Mining Corporation (CMC) recently hosted a successful meeting and validation conducted by the Multi-Partite Monitoring Team (MMT) to evaluate the company's second-quarter accomplishments.

The MMT, led by Engr. Riajh Jeanne C. Caluyong from the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Region 13 and co-chaired by Engr. Rey Ghale D. Balite from the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Region 13, comprised a diverse group of stakeholders, including representatives from the local government, civil society organizations, and regulatory agencies.

The team included Nilo L. Seda, Sr. from the Barangay Local Government Unit of Valencia, Mja Mae T. Napalan from REACH Inc., Celeste N. Paler from the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO)-Dinagat, Kerby Joy G. Edera from the Department of Health (DOH) Provincial Disease Investigation and Response Office (PDI), Evamie P. Oraba from the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of Cagdianao, Maridel G. Ibarra from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Community Development Division/Biodiversity Management Bureau (CDD/BMB), and Bonifacio M. Jazon from the religious sector.

The MMT conducted a comprehensive review of CMC's operations, focusing on key programs such as the Environmental Protection and Enhancement Program (EPEP), the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), and the company's Safety and Health programs.

The assessment covered various environmental factors, including air quality, land use, water quality, and noise levels. Additionally, the team evaluated the effectiveness of social initiatives aimed at community development and the implementation of safety protocols to ensure the well-being of employees and neighboring communities.

The successful validation by the MMT underscores CMC's unwavering commitment to responsible mining practices. By actively engaging with stakeholders and upholding the highest environmental and social standards, CMC demonstrates its dedication to sustainable operations that minimize environmental impact while positively contributing to the local community's well-being.
