DMC Partners with TESDA for NCII Accreditation of Operators

The Dinapigue Mining Corporation, in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) – Regional Office II conducted a three-day accreditation and assessment program for its 23 of its equipment operators.

TESDA is the Philippines’ Technical Vocational Education Training authority and as such, is tasked with managing the Technical Education and Skills Development throughout the country. TESDA Regional Office II was represented by Lawrence Chua, Rolan Capistrano, Reynold Daguro, Marinette Lacas, and Jim Camacho.

The candidates assessed for TESDA National Certificate (NCII) accreditation included DMC’s Dump Truck, Backhoe, and Vibratory Roller operators.

The NCII certification is a requirement for heavy equipment operators especially in the mining industry. In partnering with TESDA for the assessment program, DMC enables its operators to be compliant with the national requirement mandated by DOLE and ensures that they have the necessary skills to operate heavy machinery.

“Nagpapasalamant po kami sa management ng DMC at may ganitong assessment upang hindi na kami kailangang mapalayo pa sa Dinapigue para makakuha ng NCII namin. Nagpapasalamat din kami sa mga engineer namin na nagbigay ng training bago kami sumabak sa assessment ng TESDA. (We are thankful to the DMC management for partnering with TESDA to bring the assessment here so that we don’t have to go out of Dinapigue to be accredited with NCII certification. We’re also thankful to our engineers who trained us before the assessment conducted by TESDA),” said DMC Dump Truck Operator Augusto Antonio.

During the three-day assessment period, the participants were given brief orientations on the equipment they were operating before proceeding to written assessment followed by a practical on-site assessment conducted by TESDA Assessor Reynold Daguro.
