DMC Vaccinates Against Influenza

As part of its preventive measures against common illnesses, Dinapigue Mining Corporation inoculated 64 employees and contractors against influenza for the month of January 2023.

Romer Matubang, DMC Nurse explained that “it is important to update one’s influenza vaccines annually to prevent common illnesses.”

Because of this, Matubang added, that the DMC Health Department with the support of the site management conducted the inoculation of influenza vaccines to reduce the foot traffic of common diseases at the clinic.

Among the common symptoms of flu include fever of at least 38 degrees centigrade, headache, runny nose, sore throat, cough, and at times muscle or joint pain.

Although flu vaccines cannot completely stop infections of the virus, they are effective at preventing severe symptoms of infection and among the most vulnerable to severe flu infections are pregnant women, senior citizens, and children.

“Magandang programa ito ng clinic ng DMC dahil mas napapadali sa aming mga taga-ritong magpabakuna, at iwas sakit para sa lahat. Maraming salamat po sa health at sa management ng DMC para sa programang ito,” said General Services Leadman Boyet Salazar.

DMC administered a total of 121 flu vaccines from 2022 to January 2023 as part of the 2022 annual safety and health program.
