HMC gives love on Christmas to its host communities

Spreading love and joy this Christmas Season, Hinatuan Mining Corp. (HMC) provides various support as a way of giving back to its host communities.

On the first week of December, HMC distributed half sack of rice and 1.5 kilograms of meat to each household in its host communities that include Barangay Talavera, Sitio Bagong Silang and Sitio Campandan.

The residents in the community received the food supplies as additional assistance provided by HMC, a subsidiary of Nickel Asia Corp. (NAC), to the residents affected by the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) due to CoVID-19.

Lester Plaza, a resident of Sitio Bagong Silang, was grateful for the support it provided to his community.

“Thank you for the early Christmas gift. I would like to express our gratitude to the management of the company especially to ComRel and Sir Jay-r Resuera who always try to maintain and improve the relationship with the community,” said Plaza.

He also expressed his gratitude to the management of HMC who are always giving hope to the community together with the support of Barangay officials.

“Thank you for the unconditional support even though we are in a crisis but the good heart of your company is always willing to help and assist everybody in our community. We love you HMC,” said Plaza.

The following week, HMC distributed Christmas giveaways—consisting of pasta, sauce, corned beef, and cheese - to residents of Barangay Talvera, Sitio Bagong SIlang and Sitio Campandan.

For the third week of December, HMC distributed two kilos of bangus per household in its three host communities.

The bangus that were distributed came from the United Fisherfolks Association of Bagong Silang (UFAOBS) Bangus production project, which is being supported by the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) of HMC.

On the fourth week, HMC distributed additional half sack of rice and frozen foods to each household in its three host communities.

Barangay Talavera Kagawad Ermalyn R. Becera was thankful for the support of HMC.

“Thank you for your unwavering support HMC, each household in our community received 25 kilos rice,” said Becera.
