HMC supports distance learning education initiatives during pandemic

Hinatuan Mining Corporation (HMC) continuously supports education initiatives designed to minimize the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The support goes beyond its host communities and municipality and extends to other areas in the Province of Surigao del Norte.

The company reaches out to its partners in education to empower them to improve their best distance learning practices during this new normal set-up of learning.

The Department of Education (DepEd) Siargao Division is one of these education partners.

It received a Risograph machine, 100 reams of bond paper, gallons of rubbing alcohol and other health essentials.

Schools Division Superintendent Nelia S. Lomocso, PhD, CESE, is grateful for the support given by HMC to her division saying, “thank you most sincerely to HMC. This will magnanimously help in the implementation of our Learning Continuity Plan, "Padajon an Edukasyon (Education will Continue)."

DepEd Surigao del Norte Division also got support from HMC receiving items such as 25 gals. of 70% alcohol, 300p pcs. customized and washable facemasks, 50 boxes of Vitamin C, chlorine powder, 1 unit brand new risograph machine for module printing and 100 reams US bond papers.

Likewise, DepEd Malimono also received medical supplies such as 20 gals.70% alcohol, 120 pcs. customized and washable facemask, 40 boxes of Vitamin C, 1 drum of chlorine powder and 3 pcs. Of thermal scanners from HMC.

Malimono District In-Charge Supervisor Ceana A. Epley was thankful for the supplies her school received from HMC.

“Thank you HMC for providing our support to our school. Your support means much to us. Maraming, maraming salamat po.”
