NAC gives kalderos for Taal evacuees

Employees of Nickel Asia Corp. (NAC) have donated ‘kaldero’ (cauldrons or pots) and other kitchenware to the evacuees of the Taal Volcano eruption.

NAC vice president for Corporate Communications Jose Bayani Baylon said the kalderos will be distributed by NAC workers to evacuation centers in Batangas and Cavite.

He said this is in addition to some P75 million in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds downloaded by the company itself to its mining and neighboring communities in 2018 alone.

For employees of Hinatuan Mining Corporation (HMC), a subsidiary of NAC, mountains and seas did not stop them from participating in the NAC employees’ Personal Social Responsibility Program (PSR).

HMC employees in Tagana-an, Surigao del Norte, pooled their personal resources in order to donate 60 pieces of kaldero.
