The Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation (RTNMC) swiftly extended a thousand bags of relief goods - 800 to residents of Brooke’s Point and 281 bags to the affected households of Sofronio Espanola.
The turnover of assistance aims to help families affected by flooding in town, which was facilitated by the local government units and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO).
The relief assistance was received by Mayor Abner Rafael Tesorio of Sofronio Espanola who intends to distribute the assistance to families affected by the flood that caused severe damage to their livelihood and properties.
In a Facebook post, Mayor Tesorio thanked the mining company for the real-time aid to his constituents.
As one of the mining companies operating in southern Palawan, particularly in Bataraza, RTNMC stressed its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and community development programs. It involves actively taking part in relief efforts in the time of disasters like Typhoon Odette in 2021.
RTNMC is serious in its commitment to corporate social responsibility (CSR) and community development programs. It took part in various relief operations in the past not only in the Municipality of Bataraza but in other towns as well.
