Mine environment, safety, and health division manager Engr. Remedios C. Camo said that the conducted audit was for the maintenance of the ISO certifications gained from 2016 to 2019.
These ISO certifications are 9001:2015 for Quality Management System; 14001:2015 for Environmental Management System; and 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety Management.
“In terms of quality, environmental, and occupational health safety, its scope is covering all the processes of Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation so the idea of ISO is from womb to tomb. So from the drilling to shipment, it is covered by our ISO,” she said.
Camo said that RTNMC would like to improve its productivity and efficiency of its processes from start to finish.
Through upgrading the quality of environmental compliance and occupational safety and health within the company, RTN aims to satisfy its customer requirements, and ensure that there is no environmental degradation during the mining process and safety assurance of employees.
“Increase in satisfaction siguro kasi through the ISO, na-analyze na kasi yong internal and external issues, yong mga risk and opportunities ng company. Ibig sabihin mas maganda na yong satisfaction ng aming interested parties including the community,” she said.
