Hinatuan Mining Corporation (HMC) is committed to contributing to sustainable national development by implementing its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) roadmap.
This initiative aims to uphold the highest standards in the responsible utilization of the country’s natural resources.
The Sustainability Team from Nickel Asia Corporation (NAC) visited the HMC mine site and surrounding communities for an important site briefing and workshop. This collaboration focused on several key objectives designed to enhance sustainability practices.
The workshop aimed to orient HMC management on the NAC Sustainability Roadmap, presenting the results of HMC's Phase 1 baseline assessment, target setting, and action planning.
The team worked together to revalidate these baselines and set actionable targets while inspecting the site for recommendations to monitor indicators necessary for achieving sustainability goals.
Additionally, the NAC team gathered vital documents that will serve as references for the NAC Sustainability Roadmap. They also briefed HMC on Phase 2 of the roadmap, which includes initiatives focused on sustainability digitalization and reporting.
Through these collaborative efforts, Hinatuan Mining Corporation is taking significant steps toward fostering a sustainable future.
By aligning with best practices and leveraging the expertise of the NAC Sustainability Team, HMC is not only enhancing its operational standards but also contributing to the broader goal of responsible resource management in the Philippines.
