TMC thanks, treats stakeholders

A night filled with joy and prizes greeted various stakeholders of Taganito Mining Corporation (TMC ) during its 11th Grand Stakeholders Party.

With the theme “Pagpasalamat sa Makanunayong pagtambayayungay ug Pagtinabangay,” the party was held last December 18, 2018 at the TMC Covered Court in celebration of its year-round partnership with its Community Relations and Development Department.

The annual celebration was attended and participated by various stakeholders of the company that include project beneficiaries, local government units (LGUs), line agency partners, non-government organizations, among others.

The event was graced by TMC’s Resident Mine Manager, Engr. Artemio E. Valeroso, who emphasized the importance of strengthening the partnership between the company and the community in his Christmas message.

Moreover, the barangay captains of the four mining barangays were also in attendance along with faculty and staff of the different Claver schools headed by Dr. Elena Navallo, Public Schools District Supervisor.

To spice up the evening, a caroling contest and modern Christmas dance contest were held to showcase the talents of the TMC’s people’s organizations and school teachers respectively.

For the Christmas caroling contest, Claver Red Mountain Agriculture Cooperative (CREMACO) was hailed as champion followed by Gagmay’ng Mananagat sa Wangke (GAMAWA), then Urbiztondo Women Workers Association (URWASS).

Meanwhile, teaching staff from the four mining barangays showcased their dancing skills as they battled out their Modern Christmas Dance numbers.

This year’s Grand Champion was Urbiztondo Elementary School; Hayanggabon Elementary School was the 2nd Placer and Cagdianao Elementary School was the 3rd Placer wherein their school head Mrs. Custodia Dela Peña performed as Mrs. Claus.

Making sure no company stakeholder goes home empty-handed, various raffle prizes were prepared such as blankets, rice cookers, barbeque grills, desk fans, sandwich makers and blenders for the minor prizes.

For the major prizes, a sala set, water dispenser and microwave was up for grabs to the attendees. The prizes were won by Mrs. Rebecca G. Bantugan, teacher from Claver National High School; Ms. Miraflor Sulapas, Bayanihan of Lapinigan Association member; and Pelita Erezo from Barangay Cagdianao, respectively.

The gathering was concluded with a candle lighting and community singing of the song, “The Covenant.”
