Business Metal tycoons Atty. Manuel B. Zamora and Martin Antonio Zamora, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President of Nickel Asia Corporation (NAC) were featured in Usapang Bilyonaryo show of CNN Philippines hosted by veteran journalist Ces Drilon.
Entitled “The Metal Tycoons,” this episode featured the father and son tandem in leading NAC--the Philippines' largest producer of lateritic nickel ore and one of the largest in the world.
Manuel "Manny" Zamora Jr. discussed the driving force behind his success as a businessman and kingmaker, while Martin Antonio "Dennis" Zamora shared how he plans to lead NAC into the future.
He was just 28 years old when Manny started his career at Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation (RTNMC), where he served as President in 1969.
Manny is a seasoned lawyer wherein he placed third in the 1961 Bar Exam and holds degrees in science and law from the University of the Philippines (UP).
After 50 years of serving NAC, Manny stepped down as Nickel Asia's Chairman in 2019 and currently serves as its board advisor.
He passed the baton to his self-accomplished son, Martin "Dennis" Zamora Jr., who took the reins as President and CEO in 2020.
At the same time, Martin serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of EPI and all its subsidiaries.
Before he joined Nickel Asia in 2007, Martin was the Philippine Country Manager and Director of UPC Renewables.
Given his strong background in finance and investment banking, Martin worked for reputable firms such as CLSA, Robert Fleming & Co. (UK), Jardine Fleming, and SGV & Co.
