The distribution of PE uniforms was done through the joint partnership of Nickel Asia Corporation-Taganito Mining Corporation (NAC-TMC), Department of Education-Claver District, local government units of the four mining barangays namely: Taganito, Hayanggabon, Urbiztondo and Cagdianao and the Community Technical Working Group,
The move is a commitment of the company and the four LGUs of the mining barangays who did not hesitate to share P300, 000 each from their SDMP fund allocation every year to support the 16 elementary schools in Claver District including those outside their barangays.
The project caters to the need for comfortable clothing during the Physical Education classes where pupils undergo rigorous activities. According to Dr. Dr. Elena M. Navallo, Public Schools District Supervisor, the PE uniforms given by TMC are now the prescribed Friday uniform of the pupils.
The Department of Education-Claver District confirmed that 16 elementary schools of Claver District with a total of 5,867 pupils from kinder to elementary received the distribution of PE uniforms.
“Our District is very grateful to the management of Taganito Mining Corporation. To God be all the glory,” said Dr. Elena M. Navallo, Public Schools District Supervisor (Claver) as she expressed her gratitude to the management of NAC-TMC.
The sets of PE uniforms bearing the TMC and DepEd logos are symbols of the active partnership with the Education Department in promoting quality education and healthy lifestyle for the students.
For the previous year, members of the CTWG and TMC management representatives turned-over 6,000 pieces of school bags and hygiene kits to the 16 elementary schools within Claver District worth P 1.2M.
