One of the many ways that the Nickel Asia Corporation affiliate Cagdianao Mining Corporation (CMC) gives back to the community is through its yearend party for children.
During this celebration, CMC personnel led by its Community Relations staff bring joy to the kids by making them feel that they are loved and that they have a second family in the company.
For the 2018 yearend get-together, CMC has outdone itself again by bringing in the fun of Jollibee mascots who helped make the parlor games more lively and memorable during the Children’s Christmas Party in Barangay Valencia.
“The children here are very lucky because CMC always puts them on their thoughts, not only during Christmas but all throughout the year,” said Valencia Brgy. Councilor Virgemie T. Visitacion.
Visitacion, who chairs the Committee on Education and Social Services, pointed out that the village’s young ones also get school supplies and even shoes and uniforms from CMC before the start of the classes.
This was echoed by Valencia Elementary School teacher Benraflor S. Autentico, who expressed her gratitude for the company’s educational assistance to both secondary and elementary learners of the Valencia Integrated School (VIS), echoed this.
A touching scene during the Valencia Christmas Party was witnessed by the attendees when CMC Resident Mine Manager Engr. Arnilo C. Milaor embraced the children as he led the distribution of Christmas presents.
“This is our way of sharing our love and being thankful for the success of the mining operations,” Engr. Milaor said in his inspirational message.
“It is the time of the year to give back out for the shipment of 49 vessels in a mining chronicles. CMC come hand in hand and had a very strong team to achieve its operations, of course the people as one of the asset in the company was working together to make it possible,” Engr. Milaor added.
Engr. Milaor said the yearned thanksgiving parties are only one of the ways for the company to show the true meaning of Responsible Mining.
“Social Development and Management Program is the fruit of mining operations. Everyone has to savor the benefits, and ensure quality of life for the community by sustaining wealth creations through our livelihood programs,” the CMC resident mine manager said.
Milaor also thanked the community for its unfailing support for the company.
