The Multi-partite Monitoring Team (MMT) recently conducted an inspection of Taganito Mining Corporation's (TMC) accomplishments for the fourth quarter of 2023.
The inspection aimed to validate the compliance of TMC focusing on its Environmental, Safety, and Social Responsibility programs.
The MMT is composed of representatives from several key organizations and agencies, including the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office of Surigao del Norte (PENRO-SDN), the Environmental Management Bureau Region 13 (EMB-13), the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office Tubod (CENRO-Tubod), the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Region 13 (MGB-13), the Municipal Local Government Unit of Claver (MLGU Claver), and the Barangay Local Government Units of Taganito, Urbiztondo, Hayanggabon, and Cagdianao. Additional members include representatives from Claver Parish and the Reach Foundation.
During the inspection, the team reviewed various aspects of TMC's operations to ensure adherence to environmental regulations, safety standards, and social responsibility commitments.
The comprehensive evaluation covered measures taken by TMC to mitigate environmental impacts, enhance workplace safety, and contribute to the well-being of the surrounding communities.
