Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation (RTNMC) proudly participated in the nationwide synchronized launch of the Mining Communities Cleanup Program by the Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) in Palawan.

This initiative of MGB, dubbed PLASTIKalikasan: Mining Communities Cleanup Program, highlights the critical importance of sustainable environmental practices within mining communities.

Coinciding with Earth Day celebrations, the cleanup drive took place in Barangay Rio Tuba, a vibrant community in Bataraza, Palawan, with participation from more than a hundred enthusiastic community volunteers, along with RTNMC employees.

Their collective effort not only emphasized community spirit but also underscored the shared responsibility of safeguarding the environment.

At the heart of the PLASTIKalikasan initiative is the goal of establishing a sustainable waste management platform tailored for mining communities.

By promoting environmentally sound practices, the program aims to pave the way for a cleaner, greener future, ensuring that mining operations can coexist harmoniously with the natural environment.

As RTNMC and local volunteers worked side by side, the day served as a powerful reminder of the positive change that can emerge from community collaboration.

Through initiatives like PLASTIKalikasan, the mining sector is taking proactive steps toward environmental stewardship, ultimately contributing to a healthier planet for future generations.
