In a vibrant show of community spirit, Taganito Mining Corporation (TMC) participated in the much-anticipated Tabo sa Barangay in Taganito, which took place from July 20 to July 21.
This event, a highlight of the barangay’s annual fiesta and Nutrition Month celebrations, brought together local residents and neighboring communities for two days of market-style activities and shared culture.
Held near the tennis court in Purok 7, the Tabo sa Barangay offered a festive atmosphere where locals could shop, interact, and celebrate the bounty of the region. TMC was one of the key participants, setting up a booth that showcased the impressive range of products from the corporation’s environmental team and its supported people's organizations.
Visitors to TMC's booth were treated to a diverse array of goods, many of which reflected the region’s agricultural richness. Among the offerings were delicious local snacks such as cassava cake, biko, and fish polvoron, as well as healthy, homegrown produce like vegetables, nuts, and rice. Additionally, TMC displayed eco-friendly products such as organic fertilizers, highlighting its commitment to sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.
Beyond providing local produce, the event also served as a platform for TMC’s continuing support of the local community. The company's involvement in the Tabo sa Barangay aligns with its long-standing efforts to foster community development through partnerships with local organizations.
“We are proud to be part of this meaningful event,” said a representative from TMC. “It’s an opportunity for us to not only showcase the products of our environmental team but also to support the livelihoods of local people’s organizations. This is a celebration of local culture, our collective efforts toward sustainability, and the strong bonds between TMC and the Taganito community.”
As the Tabo sa Barangay drew visitors from neighboring towns and communities, it reinforced the significance of local collaboration and mutual support in the face of common goals. For TMC, participation in this event is a testament to its ongoing commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen, strengthening ties with the community while promoting environmental awareness and economic empowerment.
The Tabo sa Barangay was not only a celebration of the fiesta season but also an opportunity for the people of Taganito to come together, support each other, and enjoy the fruits of their labor. With events like these, the bonds between TMC and the community are sure to continue growing stronger for years to come.
